The WE ARE HERE Company is a professional development platform and dynamic community of powerful performers who are keen to research, process, make, discuss, disrupt and perform new kinds of dance work made in collaboration with and lead by Emma Saunders.
We are currently hosted by FORM Dance Projects who provide us with 4hrs of weekly in kind rehearsal space 🙏

Nominated for an Australian Dance Award, ENCOUNTER is a large scale outdoor site specific work of joy in Prince Alfred Park, Parramatta (tagged #bestofthefest by CREATE NSW) and for the Four Winds Festival, Bermagui. Directed by Emma Saunders, ENCOUNTER involves a 52 piece live orchestra (WSYO), 16 dancers – 8 dancers from Western Sydney and 8 dancers from Fling Physical Theatre, an original 1hr composition by composers Jodi Phyllis (The Clouds) and Amanda Brown (The Go-Betweens), Miles Franklin nominee writer Felicity Castagna, and slam poet Pola Fanous. With a cast of 16 dancers and 48 musicians, in collaboration with award-winning artists, composers Amanda Brown (The Go-Betweens) and Jodi Phillis (The Clouds), writer Felicity Castagna, conductor James Pensini, and associate artist Rob McCredie, ENCOUNTER invites you to celebrate the indomitable spirit of youth and the world they find themselves in.
ENCOUNTER AND ENCOUNTER SOUTH were originally commissioned and produced by FORM Dance Projects, supported by Sydney Youth Orchestras and FLING Physical Theatre, for presentation in Four Winds SPRING Festival 2019 and Sydney Festival 2020.
